Phantom, the Pitbull Cuddle Bug

Happily dreaming of peanut butter treats.

Happily dreaming of peanut butter treats.

Always wanted a lap dog and some great company on your outdoor adventures? Look no further! Hi, my name is Phantom and I could be your new best friend.

At five-years-old, I’m 68 pounds of loyal and sweet pitbull love – so much so, that my foster mom calls me a “cuddle bug.” One of my favorite pastimes is to snuggle up on a cozy couch for a nice, long nap while I get my belly rubbed. Who wouldn’t love that? After a long time living on the streets and sleeping on cement, there’s no greater luxury to me than a warm, soft cushion and a snooze.

Taking in the scenery and loving the great outdoors on a hike!

The only thing I love just as much, or maybe even more than cuddling and sleeping? Walking! I’m a strong and athletic dog and am always up for an adventurous walk in a bustling city, or a peaceful hike in the hills. I love exploring downtown San Jose with my foster mom, where I can take in all the vibrant sights, smells and sounds.  And, oh wait!  I wouldn’t miss the chance to breath in the fresh air up on St. Joseph’s Hill in Los Gatos or in Sierra Vista’s wide-open spaces. I could walk for miles, but a stroll for 30 minutes a day, twice a day is my sweet spot. If you also love being active and are looking for a sightseeing companion, we’d be a great match!

When I’m walking, I find other dogs passing by very interesting (there are so many different breeds and sizes!) and often want to run over and say hello. Since most walks in San Jose require me to be on leash, this curiosity has given me a lot of opportunities to practice my leash manners. My foster mom tells me I’m a quick learner – and it helps that my rewards are peanut butter treats, my favorite!

I love to be loved — and have so much love to give! To learn more about me and to reach out to SVPP to see if you could be my new forever family, visit my page. I can’t wait to meet you!
